Sarah Lee Guthrie & Johnny Irion

Daughter of Arlo Guthrie and granddaughter of the iconic folk singer Woody Guthrie, Sarah Lee Guthrie continues the family music tradition. Sarah Lee and husband Johnny Irion have been celebrated for their “lush, dreamy sound” (American Songwriter magazine). Their newest album, Wassaic Way, was produced by Wilco’s Jeff Tweedy and Patrick Sansone, who worked together with Nora Guthrie to produce unrecorded lyrics by Woody Guthrie. In this album, Sarah Lee and Johnny stretch beyond the Americana/folk boundaries for a sound reminiscent of Simon & Garfunkel and Fleetwood Mac, and show promise of great things to come.
